If you're coming over on the Wood Islands Ferry from Nova Scotia, the following directions will get you to Kindred Spirits Country Inn in Cavendish, home of the conference.

On the ferry, you should be able to pick up a PEI road map from the PEI Tourist Information Booth.

Coming out of the ferry parking lot, follow the signs for Route 1 to Charlottetown. Follow Route 1 for approximately 45-60 minutes, through Flat River, Orwell Corner, and Cherry Valley until you come into Stratford. On the way into Stratford you'll pass a Sobey's grocery store on your left, which is a good place for food or drugs should you need them. A little up the road on your right is the Stratford Liquor Store, and then you'll come to the Hillsborough River Bridge, which will take you over a large river into Charlottetown.

You'll know you're coming into Charlottetown because you'll see two large smokestacks on your left as you come over the bridge. On the Charlottetown side of the bridge, take your first right, onto Riverside Drive. You'll drive past the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the road will curve to the left, you'll pass the Kensington Road, the turn for Route 2, and finally, at a set of lights with Browns Auto on the opposite corner, you'll come to the Brackley Point Road, which is also the way to the Charlottetown Airport.

After turning onto the Brackley Point Road, drive over the hills and dales for approximately 15-20 minutes until you come to Route 6 WEST, which goes to your left (don't get this confused with the right turn that leads down Route 6 EAST, which you get to before this). At this intersection you'll see a Visitor Information Centre on your right, and, once you turn left onto Route 6, a faux lighthouse on your left and the North Winds Motel and the Lobster Claw Restaurant on your right.

Drive along Route 6 for a nice long while. You'll make a right turn at Oyster Bed Bridge, continuing along Route 6; you'll pass Cymbria, South Rustico, and Rusticoville. Keep driving along Route 6 and you'll come into the small village of North Rustico. Drive right through the village (there's a grocery store, hardware store and, up the hill, the last liquor store you'll pass).

Keep driving along Route 6 until you come to the intersection of Route 13. You're now in Cavendish. Go through the intersection, continuing on Route 6, for just a tad. On your left, after you pass the big signs for the Green Gables attraction, and are heading up the hill, you'll see Memory Lane (yes, really) -- take a left, and you'll be at the Inn.
